Oakland Press Story: Orchard Lake St. Mary's Lacrosse

Happy Memorial Day! To celebrate the holiday I actually had two stories published in The Oakland Press today. The first one, which is linked below, was about Orchard Lake St. Mary's high school Lacrosse team. After winning a combined five games in two seasons, the teams has risen up to claim a No. 1 overall seed in this year's state tournament.

Most of the credit for this revival is due to second year coach Greg Normand (not the golfer), who took over the team after 10 years of coaching at Waterford. As you'll read in the story, Normand has brought a new laid-back atmosphere to Orchard Lake and the team has rewarded him with a 15-4 record.

This story was a shorter, in-depth feature story that I had about six hours to compile interviews and write copy after getting the assignment. For the full story follow below:
